Is it ok to make my own invitations?
I decided to try to make my own wedding invitations because I just can't bring myself to pay hundreds of dollars for what is basically paper. I mean I figured the whole point of an invitation is just to get the word on time and stuff (and kind of set the tone). So I bought very nice quality textured paper, found a good font and the perfect color ink to match my wedding and printed them out. I think they look good. Then I started reading way too many bridal magazines and now Im worried that it's "not appropriate" to make your own invitations. Would you think an invitation that wasn't engraved or letterpress or calligraphy was cheap and stupid?
Do your own. That's great.
When I received invitations made by the family of the bride, I thought they were just great, because they were truly what the bride (and groom) wanted.
You had the right idea!
Did you like the invites before looking at bridal mags? If yes, then stick with it.
C'mon, you know that publications are all about marketing--especially bridal magazines.
You smart girl, you beat them at the game. Way to go!
