Do you use a Scandinavian style masonry oven to heat your home?
This is the kind with a baffled chimney that will heat up a whole wall for hours with just a little bit of wood or coal.
What is your experience with it? Did you design it yourself, have someone else build it, or use a kit?
My father had one. He went through a bunch of masons before finding one who would try to build it. They work great, but just burn too dam hot. After 10 or so years of use his started developing cracks from such high temperatures. He has another chimney right next to it, so its hard to fill the cracks there with anything.
