if a freight company goes out of business while my pallet is in transit, does it become property of the banks?

I have heard this is true and that its in the fine print on a carrier's bill of lading but can someone verify that and show me where it says that?

it depends upon when title was transferred. what were freight terms.

was it FOB shipping point or FOB your dock? It makes a difference.

You have to determine who owned the goods while in transit.
